Hi Henk Thank you for your contribution. I just updated my OSI database to include this extra details. Later I will publish it in the site so everyone else can enter the brainstorm.
According to the OSI Spare Parts Catalogue the VIN 1750 should be a P5 based car, right?
Another interesting detail: In Alexander Weinen's 1995 book "Ford M-Modelle", he wrote that 2200 OSIs were built from which two-fifths (about 880) were 2,3 litre. Alexander also says that from November 1967 on, the bigger engine was standard and you could only have the two litre by request. My records from the VIN 1898 up have 94% of 2,3 litre engine. Statistically speaking, I think about half or more OSIs came with the bigger engine. This deserves discussion and that was why I was trying to get some clues in the weight on the VIN plates.
Some cars came with the 125 PS 2,3 HC engine and some with the Turbo May upgrade with 188 PS. I would like to know more about it. Help is welcome.

Hi Marco and anyone that needs to contact. My email is amilcar.claro(a)osi20mts.com and if there is some trouble with this email you can use amilcarclaro(a)hotmail.com If you want to correct something in the Registry or whatever subject, mail me.
If you want to create a new thread in the Forum about a different subject please feel free. It's weird to have just my name on it. I am no egomaniac or anything like that. The forum is a way to exchange knowledge and experiences. I keep visiting the osi-ig forum, but my German is still not good enough. The subjects in there are most of the times really interesting. If your German is good and you want to bring some of their topics to discussion, do it.
This year I am going to the OSI-IG meeting in Frankfurt, my third presence after 2006 in Nuremberg and 2011 (Frankfurt). I challenge you guys to go too, even if you cannot take your car. Beside OSIs, you will see dozens of classic cars. You will love it and meet nice people.
Be there, I want to meet you guys. Amilcar

I would like to ask for help to all readers, specially the OSI connaisseurs. I am trying to figure out the VIN plate numbers in order to find a pattern related to weight. I checked a large number of pictures of VIN plates and discarded all those that are obviously a repro (like mine) because if the original plate was missing, the owner could just copy from another OSI and that one could be different. The cars originally sold in Italy don't have weight inscriptions. It seems like 6 Volt mechanics is lighter but then I found several 12 Volt cars with the same weight. I couldn't also conclude anything about the engine size or being based in the P5 or P7. Someone can help? Check the table bellow. VIN Base Volt Weight Front Rear Engine1048 P5 6V 1455 725 730 2,0 1084 P5 6V 1455 725 730 1173 P5 6V 1455 725 730 2,0 1212 P5 6V 1455 725 730 1238 P5 6V 1455 725 730 1260 P5 6V 1455 725 730 1318 P5 6V 1455 725 730 1431 P5 6V 1455 725 730 1434 P5 6V 1455 725 730 1491 P5 6V 1455 725 730 2,0 1547 P5 6V 1455 725 730 1557 P5 6V 1455 725 730 1842 P5 6V 1455 725 730 1913 P5 12V 1460 680 780 1923 P5 12V 1460 715 745 2,3 1930 P5 12V 1460 680 780 2,3 2002 P5 12V 1460 680 780 2,3 2055 P5 12V 1460 680 780 2,3 2175 P7 12V 1455 725 730 2,0 2206 P7 12V 1455 725 730 2,3 2221 P7 12V 1455 725 730 2,3 2251 P7 12V 1460 715 745 2264 P7 12V 1460 715 745 2,3 2280 P7 12V 1460 715 745 2,0 2317 P7 12V 1460 715 745 2,3 2384 P7 12V 1460 715 745 2442 P7 12V 1460 715 745 2508 P7 12V 1460 715 745 2,3 2680 P7 12V 1455 725 730 2701 P7 12V 1455 725 730 3040 P7 12V 1460 715 745

Hi Eric The wheel caps are not easy to find but several OSI owners dismantled some cars and keep parts. Maybe someone that is reading this lines has wheelcaps to sell. My caps are very good as you have seen, so I did not really investigated it. But if you cannot find it, we will scan the caps and stamp it. I'm sure we will be helping more people.

Hello, I'd like to ask regarding the rear bumper license plate lights. They've never been on my OSI and so far haven't found any replacements. -Does anyone have two rear license plate lights for sale? or does anyone know what they look like to remake them? Kind regards, Marcosi Hi Marco I have moved this post to the right place (it was posted in the "I have parts to sell" thread) The rear license plates are made by SWF and are not that hard to find. Motomobil from Germany (motomobil.com) has new and used units in stock. They are the same as Taunus P5 and P7. There is a older and a newer version and both fit perfectly. Check the picture of the attachment.

Marco is looking for the weatherstrips for the quarter rear windows, check the image, numbers 5 and 7. If you recognize the rubber profiles (see detail in picture) as similar to another car let us know. I didn't check if my car also need those, but I think it will. If I cannot find, I'll have someone to fabricate it and of course I will share.

I bought a couple of rolls of this tape in ebay ( www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170931561253) and replaced the old tape on the OSI harness. It looks great and I think it is a good tip. The seller still has some rolls, check the link. I'll post some pictures of the harness later.

Hello everybody. Just want to share my latest aquisition in ebay: a 1975 magazine with no less than 6 pictures of OSIs. It is a weekly edition of a British Car Enciclopedia "On Four Wheels". I also have a French version of this magazine, from the eighties, I think. I keep finding stuff like this and I will share it with you. It is scanned with 200 dpi but if someone needs more quality just ask. I challenge you to do the same when you find something new. I will also place it in the "Books and magazines" section in the site. I still have more than 200 magazines to share but I am a little bit lazy to do it. I hope to list them all, at last. I want to take the list to the next OSI meeting and compare with the other guys (Andreas specially). Attachments:
